Groundsmen

The Somerset Cricket Board, in partnership with the SCB Groundsmans Association and IOG are pleased to announce that they will be running both the Foundation level Part A and Part B courses in 2017.

The quality of club pitches is becoming a greater influence in the retention of players and the SCB would urge clubs to think about the future management of their cricket square.
Through identifying potential delegates from within your club who could become the groundsmen of the future and by encouraging existing groundsmen without a formal qualification to attend, these course represents an excellent opportunity to ensure your club is fully prepared for the new season.

The Foundation level courses offer a practical approach to the preparation and maintenance of a Cricket square and are delivered in an informal and enjoyable environment. In addition the courses provide essential information for all cricket groundsmen, incorporating the most up to date techniques associated with managing a cricket surface.

The Part A course covers the important work that is required during pre-season and in the summer, whilst the Part B covers end of season renovations and essential autumn work.

The cost for each course is £84.00 per candidate, which includes all course resources, certificate of attendance and food and refreshments during the day.
