All three of the 2018 Somerset Cricket Board Kwik Cricket County finals were played out in glorious weather at fantastic venues across the county.
Once again the finals provided tremendous entertainment and high standards of cricket at each event..
Around 300 children, plus spectators, enjoyed a finals day atmosphere at Street CC, Cooper Associates County Ground and Clevedon CC for the three competitions.
Girls Kwik Cricket final – Tuesday 19th June 2018 – Street CC
The Girls Kwik cricket final took place at the brilliantly prepared Street CC, with consistently high standards of cricket and exciting matches provided by all the teams taking part.
The ten teams who had qualified from across the county ensured both groups were close fought with the eventual group winners, Stawley School and St Stephens School, going forward to contest the county final.
A strong St Stephens team overcame their opponents in a competitive final, played in an excellent spirit.
Well done to all of the schools taking part and for reaching the county finals stage of the competition. A full list of all the competing schools can be found below:

We would like to wish St Stephens School every success in the Regionals Finals of the competition.
Finally a huge thank you must go to Street CC for hosting our county final. The pitches and facilities were outstanding and contributed to a tremendously enjoyable day for all the players involved.
Year 6 Kwik Cricket final –Tuesday 26th June 2018 – Cooper Associates County Ground
With blazing sunshine throughout the day the CA County Ground was a magnificent host venue for the Year 6 County Final.
With the pitches expertly prepared by Simon Lee and his team, the players enjoyed an unforgettable experience of contesting a County Finals day at the home of SCCC.
The Year 6 finals did not disappoint with a number of thrilling matches and some amazing performances with both bat and ball. As expected the matches were extremely competitive with players from all schools smashing 6s into the stands, taking wickets and producing some outstanding catches and diving stops!
Oldfield Park School and Newbridge School contested an extremely close final with Oldfield Park becoming County champions.
The Oldfield Park squad are now looking forward to their regional final and we wish them every success in representing Somerset at this major event.
Once again congratulations to all the schools from Oldfield Park, Newbridge, Wrington, North Town, Preston, Ashton Gate, Bishop Henderson, Swanmead, North Petherton and Springmead who secured their place in a high quality county final day.
The SCB would like to express their thanks to everyone at Somerset County Cricket Club, for allowing the finals to be played at the CA County Ground.

Finally thanks to SCCC Chief Executive Andrew Cornish and England & SCCC star Craig Overton, for presenting the certificates, medals and trophies to the players at the end of the day.
Year 5 Kwik Cricket final – Tuesday 10th July 2018 – Clevedon CC
The fine weather continued on to our Year 5 finals day with Clevedon CC hosting a wonderful day of thrilling matches.
The early action in group stages ensured that the placings were contested well into the final round of matches, with the cricket played in a wonderful spirit and great atmosphere.
The afternoon play off matches continued to produce a number of close finishes and outstanding individual performances.
Our County Final play off match was contested by St Stephens School and Bathwick-St-Mary school. The local rivals produced a tremendous game for the spectators to enjoy, with St Stephens coming out on top and being crowned as County Champions.
Credit to all the following schools involved for contributing to an amazing day, St Stephens, Bathwick-St-Mary, Wrington, Creech St Michael, Preston, West Chinock, Yatton and Somerset Bridge .
