The ‘One to One’ coaching programme takes place on a Monday evening from the 8th October 2018 until the 25th March 2019 at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, from 6-9pm.

‘One to One’ Coaching

The ‘One to One’ coaching programme takes place on a Monday evening from the 8th October 2018 until the 25th March 2019 at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, from 6-9pm.

The programme enables players from eight years old to be coached in a personal environment by experienced and expert Somerset coaches who are qualified to a high level and able to work on all aspects of a player’s game.

Players will receive personal feedback from the coach to enable them to continue to develop techniques and skills outside of the programme. Information about our team of one to one coaches can be found below.

Sessions are available on Monday evenings from 6-9pm, at a cost of £38 per hour. Groups of 2, 3 or 4 players could enjoy a session for £45 per hour.

SCB ‘One to One’ Coaches 2018/19
Sophie Luff

Sophie is the Women and Girls Performance Lead Coach responsible for Girl’s County Age groups and the Girl’s EPP programme, as well as a community coach. She is a current England Women’s Academy player as well as captain of Somerset women. She is also an integral part of the Western Storm team that won the Women’s Super League last year and made Final’s Day this year. Sophie is a top order batsman and was awarded the Cricket Society’s Most Promising Female Cricketer of the Year in 2015. This is her third year coaching on the ‘One to one’ programme.

David Roberts

David is a former First Class cricketer who played for Northamptonshire and also played Minor Counties for Cornwall. He has spent time coaching in Cornwall and this summer has been Head Coach at Bridgwater CC, coaching both the seniors and juniors. Dave has a vast experience of both playing and coaching cricket.

Dave Peck

Dave, an ECB Level Three coach has been working for the Cricket Board since 2005. This includes coaching on our Development, District and County Programmes. as well as being head coach of the County Girls Under 13 side. Dave also coaches in a number of schools and provides valuable support to players progressing through the player pathway. Dave has been coaching on the one to one programme for a number of years.

Rich Askew

Rich is an ECB Level 3 Coach and ECB Coach Education tutor and assessor. Previously he worked overseas for the ICC in Gibraltar as National Coach, winning the London and Europe Region Sky Sports ‘Outstanding Coaching’ Award in 2009. Prior to that role he was involved with SCB on the Richard Huish Academy and as part of the ECB Women’s Elite Coaching program. He is currently coaching both the Somerset’s Senior Women’s and Girl’s U15 County teams, is a retained Coach at three schools and heads up coaching programs at several local clubs, at both Youth and Senior levels.

Andrew Draper

Andrew has been coaching on the SCB one to one programme for the last 3 years and is currently completing his ECB level 3 coaching qualification. Andrew coaches across all boys County Age Group winter squads and coaches the U15 squad in the Summer, which he has done so for the past 5 years. Andrew also is a lead District coach and is involved in a number of other SCB coaching activities.

Jack Bradbury

Jack is the Cricket Programme’s Officer at the University of Exeter, where he coaches on the University Cricket programme along with many other coaching programmes that the University run, including group and 1:1 coaching. This season he was the Devon U13 boys coach and will be the U14 boys and U17 girls Devon coach next season.
