24th March update

1. Following the announcement from the Prime Minister last night (23rd March) we have shut our offices with immediate effect. Staff are still contactable and are here to support our leagues, clubs, volunteers and players. We are just working from home.

2. Please continue to respect leagues with their holding positions. It is better that the right decisions are made in good time rather than rushing into decisions when there are still many factors at play.

3. Communication has been sent to clubs entering the SCB KO Cups and the clubs entering the U19T20 competition saying that we will do our best to keep them both running in 2020 but we don’t know in what format yet.

4. No decisions have been made regarding the 2020 All Star and Dynamo cricket programmes. As soon as we hear more from the ECB we will update clubs and parents directly.

5. Super 1s Hub clubs across the county are currently suspended.

18th March update

Today (18th March) the ECB released the following statement:

Somerset updates

1. All Somerset Cricket Board activities (courses, coaching, schools delivery and meetings) have been suspended until further notice. Our staff are still working and contactable so please get in touch with any queries you may have.

2. We are encouraging our (senior and junior) leagues to take their time over decisions regarding the 2020 season until more information is forthcoming from the government and the ECB. We ask our clubs and players to be equally supportive and understanding of our leagues and not rush them into making statements or decisions.

3. Super 1s Hub clubs across the county are currently suspended.

4. No decisions have been made regarding the 2020 All Star and Dynamo cricket programmes. As soon as we hear more from the ECB we will update clubs and parents directly.

We will update our website regularly as and when things change and we thank you for your patience, understanding and support.
