Girls Hardball Festivals

Our hardball festivals will cater for teams or individual girls who are not involved in the player pathway

Within Somerset we have a thin spread of girls only hardball cricket teams.  We are keen for those clubs to be aware of each other so that they fulfil friendly fixtures and allow girls to play against girls.

We also recognise that a number of girls are already playing junior cricket.  Our 2019 hardball offer will focus on girls not in the Junior Player Pathway.

For those clubs who have girls teams and for those clubs who have girls playing, but not enough to make a team, we are running a development day.    The  development day will be one location (two pitch venue) where clubs can send U12 girls.  The girls will then be placed into teams and have the opportunity to play formats that are encouraging of development.

The outcome of the development day  is;

To provide further opportunities for girls to be challenged in their development of hardball cricket.

  • The aim is:
    To identify future players who might be ready for the junior player pathway.
    To strengthen the standard of girl hardball cricket in Somerset.

Development day

If you have a girl cricketer in your team at U12 and who is not involved in the Somerset Player Pathway and who would like the opportunity to play against other girls, then why nominate them for our development day.
